SRO Technology
- In SRO technology, a diluted saline water stream is injected in the permeate/product side of the memberane to reduce the osmotic pressure barrier thereby reducing the osmotic pressure required for pushing higher salinity feed across the membrane surface.
- SRO Technology works using a combination of proprietary membrane in a step-wise concentration process where a calculated brine recirculation within the system maintains efficient osmotic delta in each array of membrate system.
- Permeate stream that was blended with saline stream towards the product side of the membrate to increase the osmotic differential pressure is take out of the system and processed through a different set of membranes to produce clean water of TDS less than 500 mg/l. Reject form this stage is recirculated back to the brine production stage of reconcentration thus working in a closed looped system.
- For Desalination application where thermal source is not available or is not a viable option, we offer SRO technology as an enchanced water recovery stage. The SRO process operates with in the limitations of regular RO system like similar delta-pressure and 80 BAR operational pressure, however final reject brine concentration of 220,000 mg/l can be achieved.
- SRO technology offers significant advantage over conventional brine management technologies like MVR and MEE in terms of CAPEX and OPEX cost for Desalination plants, Industrial waste water treatment plants and Zero liquid discharge systems.
